Amongst tradesmen and construction workers the second meal of the day = Smoko

Which also goes for the 4th meal;

2nd = Mornin' Smoko
4th = Arvo Smoko

I must be a poor hoi-polloi, I really only have 3 meals

1) Breakfast (sometimes)
2) Lunch
3) Dinner

I may have munchies at other times but not such that you could call them Morning/Afternoon Tea or Supper.

As for eats ?

Now I've retired it's simple :

When I get up I have breakfast.
At midday I have lunch
About 5:00pm I have tea.

Anything in-between are snacks, and I only have diner when I dine out.

Tea is drunk when I'm at home and coffee when I'm out and about. Very, very few cafes/restaurants can make a decent cup of tea, or at least one I like, whereas coffee doesn't appear to be so prone to this individuality ? One of the very few places away from home where I had a great cup of tea was when I was in Sydney for a few days

Ah, yes, "smoko", forgot that one.   Being a non-smoker all my life, it is understandable.  It is interesting in a nation where there are now more non-smokers than smokers, the old terms still hang on.

Second meal of the day = Mornos or Morning Tea
Third meal of the day = Lunch
Fourth meal of the day = Arvos or Arvo Tea
Fifth meal of the day = Tea

I do like the concept of 'mornos' and 'arvos', yes. 

As I'm knoshing a couple of pieces of toast, and a coffee right now (0450) does that count as 'earlos'?
