Just seen a heads-up on line that Home Bargains are stocking Airfix kits again at £3.99. The only one confirmed so far is the Zero starter set. I'll go and have a look as soon as I can.

They also do 1:100 revell snap together kits, I picked up a phantom and an f-22 yesterday for £2.99 each
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

Well I checked three local ones today and not a single kit between them.

I have found the cheap 1:100 kits are a great way to test my spray paint colors/techniques. My poor Thunderbirds Phantom must have 10 layers in it...

I spied a good stock of Spitfire Ia starter kits in the Hull city centre store, £2.99.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I had a look in the one at Byker and they had shedloads of SPitfire mk Ias.  I strongly suspect that these are the ones that were unused after the last Daily Mail/Smiths giveaway and one or both parties has flogged the lot to Home Bargains to recoup some money.

At £2.99 it's a steal and I don't have to give the Daily Mail a penny.

Just seen news that Home Bargains have kits in again. The only one confirmed is the Revell 1/48th Ventura in RAF colours for £9.99.

I might have a look to see what else they've got tomorrow, but I'm supposed to be doing something else... :banghead:

I'll have a spin up to the Byker one.  I can get some bacon crisps while I'm there and I think I need some Bovril too, quite possibly some milk and maybe weetabix.

Just checked the nearest couple of HBs: One shop had Venturas all in the RAF boxing and a few Airfix 1/72nd Spit Mk.1As, the other one had them all in the familiar USN boxing with the octopus artwork around the turret and no Spits. Nothing else, but it's quite possible that there may be more variation betwen branches than that.

I was one of the local ones a few days ago, they didn't have anything. I'll tip a friend off, he's into 1/48.

Byker just had the RAF Ventura and plenty of Airfix Spitfire Ia kits.  I caved and got two Spits...
