Second on the 544.  My father had one when I was growing up.

And my mum. Three actually, but I only remember the last one.

I myself had a 1972 SAAB 96 V4 as my first car. Jolly good fun, until the floor pan simply rusted off under the pedals, threatening to totally break off. I bought it off the neighbours a few years older and oh so pretty daughter, and I can still remember the lovely scent she left in the car..

Yeah, I loved mine too. I managed to hit a wall and win in mine.

Even though I'm not a driver I've very fond memories of both the Triumph Spitfire and Daimler Dart

I've just discovered a British car company called Marcos Engineering they went out of business in 1998 but they built some cool cars. I think the racing team is still running.

During the 'retro' craze a few years back I was surprised that Jaguar didn't bring out an updated version of the E Type. And Volvo with the 1800 es.

Dodge bring back their Wagoneer family...but not in its current guise as a Tahoe/Suburban clone, but in its original Jeep-built style.

I think Jag would have you believe that the XK8 was the E-Type revisited, but it didn't really cut ir with the shape.

And the current F-Type certainly doesn't, it's much too 'sharp', in the current 21st century style of course.

The Ford Mondeo, is returning but will only be sold in China.
I drove the Mondeo Mk1 five door hatchback turbo when it was released in the UK, it wasn't mine but my manager's. Over the years I have hired a few to take my parents down to Falmouth in Cornwall. A pleasant driving experience. Loads of room in the back and boot/trunk area. Good on the jungle juice as well.

Yeah, the Mondeo was always a pretty nice drive, actually. A much better car than the logo would have you think.

I ran a Mondeo V6 Estate for 2.5 yrs and 125000 miles as one of my company cars. It was pretty good, a fair amount of space, and quite comfortable too, but not a patch on the preceding Volvo 850 Estate. in the handling department.

It didn't really help that the gear lever became detached from the gearbox, twice...............  :banghead:

At last weeks Hamex show Matt was selling loads of car kits. One was the Tamiya Volvo 850 Estate BTCC kit. He reckoned it was one of the very few Volvo car kits Tamiya ever did.
Wasn't cheap either.

PR19_Kit

I think it was the ONLY Volvo car kit that Tamiya made actually.

They did two versions of the 850 Estate, the BTCC car, which was RHD, and the road version, which they called the Turbo Estate, which was LHD. The decal sheet for the BTCC car is MIND boggling, it's the same size as the box.  ;D

I've got one of each in The Loft, and one day I'll complete converting the road car to RHD and make a model of my company car.
