Yep, definitely a should-have-been. Nice one!

Unfortunately Merlin is a much larger lady than Sea King but with a similar rotor area is endowed with considerably more downwash. I'm not saying Merlin can't act as SAR but she is not best suited to the R bit of the title.

Not that any of the above should detract from a really good looking model.

That looks great Geoff, and somat everybody wanted/ wants to see ! And great minds think alike, I built one in RCN colours awhile back. I'll have to find the pics again just to see how close our ideas were !

Use longer pieces of string to haul in the victims and fly higher, easy.

I do like the RN SAR red on grey, nice mix of smart and bright.  Great build too.

Second everything; this one looks really sexy (and realistic, too).

Do we sense Nils is wondering what a Merlin will be like in the Belgium SAR scheme 

well i am now  , the Merlin was the runner up when the Belgian Air Force was looking for a replacement for its SeaKings, they eventually selected the NH90, but i had my preference for the bigger Merlin
