It's an aircraft I've always liked for some reason. Perhaps it's memories of them at the Biggin Hill Airshow all those years ago ?

That reminds me of the FAA 4 ship Scimitar Team at Farnboorugh one year. After they'd done their display they landed in pairs, from OPPOSITE ends of the runway! As they approached each other they all folded their wings and passed through the gap in the other pair's formation! AWESOME!

Can you imagine the CAA's response to anyone doing that these days???  ;D ;D ;D

Were they the people who called themselves SIMON'S SIRCUS, or did they fly Sea Vixens?  (Insert failing memory emoticon here)

I was asking myself the same question as I was writing the post, but I think Simon's Circus were flying Sea Vixens, VERY impressively though. Oddly enough they sounded very similar to the Scimitars.....  ;) ;D

I just checked, yes they did fly Sea Vixens. The Circus was part of 892 NAS, led by Lt. Cdr. Simon Idiens.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

We should be so lucky.

Fleet Air Arm museum has one, as does Solent Sky in Southampton  so they are available to be scanned if necessary.......wouldn't that be nice!!

As to Scimitars and Sea Vixens sounding similar, they were both RR Avon powered

Thread has made me realise I have the Czechmaster kit, with folding wings option, in the stash.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
