The more I work on this, the more I realise that it's a little gem. 1977 pressing, and it must have been a pleasant surprise to Airfix aficionados when it came out. Sure, the panel lines are raised, but they're quite fine, the fit is great, and the detail is very good for the time, with detailed landing gear wells, no see-through effect, and the potential to take it to another level if you wish. Really wish I had picked up one of these earlier. Highly recommended.

There are quite a few old Airfix kits which are like that (the Magister, P-80 and Hs.126 come to mind). Sometimes it feels like they had two completely different design teams, only one of which gave a damn...

Yup some of Airfix's products from around that time are very nice indeed
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Okay, decals are coming along, and I'll let the cat out of the bag. These are the roundels, fin flashes, and flags for the Canberra and the Skyray, numbers for the Canberra (same as kit numbers), and I probably will use the kit numbers for the Skyray. Back story still to be written, but it ties in with the French Skywarrior posted earlier.

I think those cracks are older than me and possibly Kit....and that's saying something  ;)

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Really bad cold at the moment, so some therapy in the hobby room is in order. Diamond Dogs playing. Second coat of gloss gull gray on the Ford, should look less patchy once it dries.

Jakarta?  Or send her by ship?

Chicago?  No, she's a passenger.

Nicosia?  No, she took them with her.

There's no way I thought you were old enough to remember those - I only just do  ;)

Not happy with the way the gloss gull gray paint went on, but couldn't find a spray can.
