A couple of questions for those interested in the Mohawk.

1. Has anyone acquired the Roden(t) 1/48th scale OV-1?
2. Has anyone performed a check-fit of the 1/72nd scale Italeri C-130J propeller and spinner on the Roden(t) Mohawk engines?

Since there has been some discussion (rumours) by the Marine Corps about returning the OV-10 Bronco back to service.  I wonder if similar ideas have been considered for the Mohawk?

There was this OV-1 based VTOL tilt-wing proposal from Grumman.

Hi All

I am looking for any images of the Mohawk's Louvered Scarfed Shroud Suppressor (LSSS). This was the system that reduced the IR signature from the engine exhaust by means of some kind of baffle arrangement? Sadly there seems to be little information and no images out there. I have the 'Mohawk in Action' book and it mentions the system, but calls it the Hot Metal and Plums Suppressor System (LESS). The operator manual Google eBook does describe the general arrangement but little detail and again no images.

Inspired by the stunning Coast Guard Mohawk posted by others, I want to do a Coast Guard OV-1D+ (modernised engines, equipment and avionics developed by the army who never when down the Guardrail, Crazy Horse route and kept the Mohawk as the primary battlefield recon planform). They would be outfitted for combatting pirates with the SLAR and some of their recon systems removed. However I really wanted to do one with the full defensive equipment fit and can't for the life of me find an image of the suppressed engines. Of cause, against a modern MANPAD, even a suppressed jet pipe is little guarantee of defeating the IR seeker head so I would also be replacing the ALQ-147 Hot Brick system with a DIRCM under the fuselage.

Anyway, if anyone has images of the LSSS/ LESS I would be eternally grateful.

Cheers

Mohawk on skis, which seems appropriate given that the arctic GB's just been voted in for next year.

Sorry, havn't got any more details.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.
