Old Wombat

Hi guys, I'm looking for Huntington BL.755 Cluster Bomb Units in 1/72 (Wingman Models already do them in my preferred 1/48).

If anyone knows if anyone makes them, it'll be you gent's!

IIRC, the Hasegawa Harrier comes with a couple of BL.755s (two or three) as optional ordnance, but AFAIK there's no aftermarket option.

Snowtrooper

IIRC older Hasegawa F-16's also come with a pair.

That's a bit of a bugger, then. Guess I'll have to see if HLJ have any, because BNA don't, & that means postage from Japan. :-\

The old Airfix Hi-Tech weapons set includes some - try ebay: partially-used sets can be quite reasonable.

Many Tornado kits have them: I found a few on Tornado sprues, but I can't identify which kit they came from I'm afraid. I'd be amazed if some of the Jaguar and Harrier GR.5/7/9 kits don't have them too.

There seem to quite a lot around in kits, but they're not always identified as such, especially in older kits. The key identifying feature is the telescopic tail fins, so have a good peer at sprues and/or sprue shots on the web.

The company is called 'Hunting' by the way: same guys who originally built the Jet Provost.

If you can't find them locally, give me a shout (DM please) and I'll put some in the post to you.

Most of the Harrier kits I have in the stash have these cluster bombs Guy, and as I'm whiffing most of them there's quite a few spare.  If H can't help you, I can.

What do they look like?
I have two Hasegawa Harriers in the stash.  This boxing...

...and if they have the bombs you want then they are yours.
I'll try to grab some pics of whats in the kit tomorrow.

Thanks, guys, as I have a few builds in 1/72 I'd like to use these on, I'll take all I can get!

This appears to be a Harrier out to really spoil someone's day!

So, fat bombs with odd fins.

It also has an odd-shaped raised panel on the top, and the spinner on the nose is somewhat distinctive.

OK.  Although I doubt whether the Hasegawa of the period when they produced these Harrier moulds would have gone to that much effort on 1/72 weapons.
But we'll find out tomorrow.

Do you need more Guy ?

That'd probably be a resounding "YES!", mate. ;D

I have a Jag GR.1/A, a couple of AV-8B's & a couple of F-4's to fit them to & the Phantom carries a lot of them!

Note: The Jag's no slouch, either, & can carry just as many (the kit comes with only 2 of the later US made CBU-87's)!

Note #2: Oh, I also have a Tornado I'll be building as Australian Army Aviation Corps & here's what the RAF put on theirs;
