The museum at Coventry has a cabinet which has a fair few of the U.K. S.I.G.'s wif's, Martin calls them our "reserve collection" and although clearly marked as "What If's" they have confused more then a few punters  ;)

I love to lurk by that case and listen to people talk about them. There's always one who says 'Ah yes, I used to work on those when I was with 74 Sqdn.' or some such.  ;D ;)

I've heard that said a few times whilst behind the stands. Sometimes you can understand it, when there's a similarity of shape and the viewer is getting on a bit, but sometimes ???  ;D

One bloke at Telford claimed to have been on 13 Sqdn. when they flew Meteor PR19s!  :o :o

I hope you led him farther down that particular garden path  ;) ;)

I'm sure I saw that in the Swedish Airforces museum when I visited a couple of years ago

We should start leaving convincing WHIFs like that in museums, with a small explanatory plaque...

We really should make more use of museum references in back stories.

Confusing/totally befuddling the public can be hilarious.  Anyone care for a repeat of the 'Operation Mistletoe' Wellington/Hurricane composite at Milton Keynes tale from Kit and Narses?

If we can get a couple of guys from Cosford on side, we could elevate Numptyboggling to a whole new level. A chap I know at the museum at East Fortune tells me he is heartily brassed off with visiting know-alls supplying misinformation to the other  punters, maybe this would let him have the last laugh.

As to the FD2, it's a pretty aeroplane in just about anyone's livery.....one would look good in NASA or New Zealand Space Agency markings.

Really?  :o

Look at the trouble it's got me into at Cosford over the PR19 that no-one ever seems to be able to find there!

That looks FANTASTIC! And since I've got one in the stash, I know what you started with, and it isn't pretty. But you've managed to turn out a winner!
