Is there some real world background to my musings Joe?

Would it be cheaper to get hold of two Revell C-160's?  Or have you got plans on the Belfast???
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

hiyas, yip the version the RAF. was originally to have was re-engined with RR. Tynes for commonality with the Belfast etc. (NATO. standard engine type for its class!), the same period brought us re-engined Chinook with Gnomes and RR. Spey powered F.111 and Phantom proposals, all part of a buy US. with UK. offsets plan (the Phantom becoming a reality!) another type looked at \around this time was the C.5 Galaxy, a very different RAF. indeed !

Interesting question.  I wonder if there are any drawings around of this proposed version?

Never heard of one.  But it would be worth WHIFFING.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Got 4 TF-33s from the Heller E-3A kit, rather than using two tilt-rotors from the V-22 kit.

Is the C-17 Globemaster 3 a bit like an enlarged, jet-powered C-130?

Why does my cynical and suspicious mind think that this was at the direct suggestion of the UK MoD?

Having just read the chapter on the Nimrod MRA4 in Tony Blackman's book I'm likely to strangle my MP the next time he comes a'knocking on my door..........
