I've seen various descriptions of the Caunter scheme and none seem to agree with any of the others.

A lot of these schemes had local variations anyway due to availability of materials etc.

I've got the Lifecolor Middle East Armour set which has some similar shades to that and others which are different, but then it's not specifically a Caunter set.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

About the only thing many of the various descriptions of the Caunter scheme seem to agree on is that the commonly seen use of blue stems from Bovington making a mistake interpreting B&W photos for a restoration.

I bought three of the colours from the Vallejo set plus something close to another which doesn't seem to be sold individually.

Close up photos of actual vehicles carrying the scheme show distinct brush marks and less than straight lines.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

There is at least one colour photo showing blue, on the cab top of a truck.

Looks more like silver grey to me.  And the colours on the rest of the photo look like it's either faded/changed over time or been adjusted.
70 year old colour photos can't be trusted to reliably show what the camera was pointed at and colour identification from B&W photos is highly subjective.  Both are open to issues with fading/change and/or photoshopping.
Then add to that differences in individual monitors/screens and lighting conditions when viewed...

This is NOT the place to start up a discussion on this topic so anyone who wants to do so can take it elsewhere as I will ask Chris to delete any posts that try to do so.
I've made my colour choices (based on aesthetics as usual - the schemes with blue in were tempting I must admit) and i'm sticking to them (at least until I get all 3 shades on the model and see how they look in the flesh).

Looking at the start of that scheme has made me think of Royal Navy Armoured Car Squadrons in WWII or beyond ?

Yes.  It's like they welded two trucks together back to back.

I've found one at an online LHS.  I may have to spend some of my bonus on it.

Got a second coat of green grey onto the BA3 today.  Another improvement.  Should get a second coat of Portland Stone on tomorrow.

I feel it needs a filter to tie all the colours together (much like the right rug does to a room).

Wow! Very good. Beautiful paint job.
