I'm blaming the weather. I haven't fired up my airbrush because it's been so bloody cold & wet here in the Adelaide Hills!

Can I ask what's cold in that part of Aus' ?

For me? Anything below 20^oC is "cold", below 16^oC becomes "bloody cold", below 13^oC is "freezing" & sub-10^oC it's all "F-ing freezing!", although wind & rain have an effect on those categories, too.

In Spring I start to thaw out at about 25^oC.

No not the cold. Incompetence combined with stubbornness and impatience.
I shouldn't have tried to use the #5 nozzle, tried to do it all in as few coats as possible snd then thought i'd fix it with more paint.
Also, paint was possibly thinned too much.

Today was another wheel day. I brush painted one side of them and then spent time sanding attachment nubs from the (vinyl) tyres before trimming the inner circumferences to enable the rims to fit into them.
I also continued the scratching up of the turret, cutting a hole in the front for a gun and building a mounting. I need to knock up hatches and a Bren Gun mounting and add some rivets.

More (brushed) paint on the wheels.
Glued the gun mount into the inside of the turret.

I had been planning to fit a Bren gun to the turret as an air defense weapon but it occurred to me yesterday that I have a Tamiya LRDG Chevy in the stash which has a Lewis Gun I can use instead (and a Boys AT Rifle if I feel so inclined) so this car can have the same weapons fit as the Roden Royce Armoured Car I intend to build as a companion.

Wheels and tyres are adjoined at last but more paint is required on them.
I also continued working on the turret. It now has hatches.

I was planning to put rivets onto the turret but am at a loss as to how to do it. I had thought about cutting small pieces of styrene rod to make them but I have no rod that thin (I need to match the existing rivets on the BA3 body). I may have to stretch some sprue. Not done that for a while.
Painting today. More on the wheels and primer on the turret to check how it looks.

I thought about using my (very rusty) technical drawing skills to work out the correct curve to get the side cutaways but in the end settled for making an over-tall cylinder, sawing the "corners" off and then sanding it square with wet & dry taped to glass.

Remembered to attach the last remaining front suspension parts today and satin cleared the wheels.

I only did two years of Geometrical and Technical Drawing. I actually found the Masters comments on an old report card I found a couple of months ago....in red ink ! At least Old Callaghan was honest in his comments.

Engineering Drawing was a core part of my degree syllabus. I enjoyed it but it was probably obsolete due to the use of AutoCAD and the like.

Put a bit of filler on the turret today and painted some detail on the chassis.

Yup back in the 60's at secondary school it was seen as the way for working class lads to get off the shop floor and into the office. Try explaining that to a 14 year old now
