Supermarine Snapper

Snappers are a family of perciform fish, Lutjanidae, mainly marine, but with some members inhabiting estuaries, feeding in fresh water. The family includes about 113 species. Some are important food fish. One of the best known is the red snapper.

Also a seaplane used by the RAF during the "interwar" period of the twentieth century.

More details to follow when I clear my bench and get stuck in.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Gladiator is donating it's engine.  Wings are from my "wings and fuselages" box.

Slow progress so far.
Painting the interior, seat, controls, IP etc so I can join the two halves.
My initial plan for a new nacelle hasn't worked out so I am having a rethink.

Woo hoo! Progress!

Fuselage halves joined today and some paint on the pilot.
I have also identified a new direction with the nacelle - the tip of an A10 fuselage.

Savoia is moulded in red and the wings are by Matchbox.  Definitely not one to try to paint white I suspect...

I only watched Porco Rosso again the other night as well
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ya didn't want to go for the little over big wing layout of the real S.21?  ;D

zenrat

TBH Jon I am a bit fussy about my biplanes.  Call me a traditionalist but for them to "look right" I like the top wing to be equal in size or bigger, and set further forwards than the bottom one.

I slapped some filler on it today.
