New avatar Jon.  Open wheel racing car of some sort.  Possibly front engined judging by the intakes in the nose?

Lots of progress on the Snapper today.  PSR, started on the engine and added some cabane struts to the nacelle.
I also carried out some paint tests with a couple of different rattle can silvers I found on my paint shelf.

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

PSR.
Small areas in fiddley places.

I have also re-thought the lower wings and modified them accordingly.

I thought it was something from Starwars!  :o
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PSR is finished so I proceeded to paint today.
My "High Speed Silver" is silver rattle can enamel.
I painted the hull and undersides of the flying surfaces.
They were looking great..
...and then the hull fell off its cocktail stick/cotton bud stick painting support and dropped onto the floor.
Luckilly it landed flat on its bottom and didn't roll (and more importantly I didn't step forwards and kick it or tread on it).
I picked it up and resisted the urge to do anything until the paint is dry.  I'm hoping the big chunks of floor smeg will mostly brush off...
🤞🏼

There's something about silver painted models that attracts them to the floor..........   :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Hmm, I haven't updated this for a while.

I've written the backstory, painted the camo and today decalled it.
I also painted the rudder.

Now onto the fiddley bits.
I got the wings on and rigged and then realised the upper wings was on crooked.  Not much, and I could have hidden it with carefull photo selection but I would have known about it.
So I carefully detached the wings leaving the rigging in place, put some glue on the ends of the cabane and interplane struts with a toothpick and then held it all in place until the 5 minute epoxy dried enough to let go.
Prior to this I had assembled the engine, cowling and exhaust collector ring and when the epoxy was dry I stuck them on the front of the nacelle.
Having done that enabled me to ascertain that the prop from the Gladiator was too large a diameter but a dig in my "props and engines" box found a small diameter, three bladed effort which will do the job nicely.  Not sure what its off.  It's silver plastic and may be from an Airfix Grumman Duck.
I addition to crooked wings I discovered that gloss clear on the wing floats (this is a shiny plane) had made missing panel lines and flat areas from sanding the seams stand out like a dogs balls so they got a re-sand, a touch of the razor saw and more paint.
All that remains now is the paint on the prop and exhausts, clear, attach and rig the floats and then insert the pilot.

I like the  idea of a 'props & engine'  box.

I find it easier to find stuff to do a specific job if I group my spare parts.  I have props & engines, fuselages & wings, clear parts, weapons, guns and everything else.

Glad this has recovered!!! Having stuff fall on the floor and turn into a Katamari Damacy is bad business.  Katamari Damacy was a video game where the whole point of the main character was to roll around and everything he rolled over would stick to him, so he would become progressively larger, and collect more stuff. I never got around to playing that one.....      I did play Mr. Mosquito, however, where you were a mosquito and the objective was to fly around inside these peoples' house and try to suck their blood, stealthily and strategicallly, without them knowing it or swatting you....     weird games, the Japanese make but gotta love their creativity.

Tangent off.
