No, no, no. Delicate precision is the order of the day.
OK I am thinking along the lines of a mini power tool (Dremel) with a spinning sanding disc, but delicate precision none the less.

On a semi-related note I stooped by the great Air Mobility Museum at Dover AFB on Wednesday Aug 15 to check on their KB-50 recently brought up from Florida.  I have now seen 4 of the 5 B-50 survivors in person.  This airframe is believed to be the oldest (by conversion date) airborne refueler to survive.

Neat to see the refueling pods and the unique doors on the aft fuselage.

Just like a kit, but in 1:1 scale...

Never need an excuse to include the C-5...

They're going to need a 50000 gallon tanker full of Revell Contacta to put that KB-50 back together!  :o

Gosh that looks a bit like my 1/144 spares box.

The delicate sanding/shaping has been done, requiring only the gentle touch of the sanding disc, micro chisel, and various knife blades.
Then the adition of putty, in this case Squadron Green Stuff.

The next one is just a general view to let you see how she looks at the moment.

Now the S begins

Good knife and chisel work there Jim.

Didn't need the blow torch or the chain saw then?

Not yet!
Mind you handling a 1/144 chain saw would be very tricky!

The first stage of PSR has been done, then a quick coat of primer applied, and I have to say I am rather pleased so far.
One point that I must make is that because of the way the two kits are moulded this has made the wings slightly longer than they should be. In fact the wing span has increased by some four feet (real size!).
The back story will explain this in the fullness of time.

After the first bit of sanding the two sides looked like this.

Looking quite promising so far.
Then after a quick coat of primer.

There is some work still to be done but it is looking promising.

Well this photo shows where I am at with this. It also shows where and why I am calling a halt on this one, at least for this GB.

When it came to fitting the main glazing for the cockpit area, it is TOOOOOOO wide for the fuselage, and while it may not look so big in the photo, in terms of the model it is just too big. Add to this the fact that the thickness of the glazing makes it somewhat impossible to gently squeeze it into shape.

Add to all this, the fact that I have just found out that Minicraft (or maybe Academy) are planning a new tool B-50 in this scale.
I shall wait and see what it is like

Maybe there's a replacement clear vacform glazing either by Falcon or Contrail? :banghead:
