The Heinkel Volksjager was another of Germany's 11th hour jets, coming far too late in the conflict to make any difference to the outcome of the war.  How these were to be flown in combat by kids trained somewhat on gliders is a complete mystery, and speaks to the desperation in those final months.  The A-5 model was an improved version with strengthened airframe, uprated Jumo 004 engine, and fixed 30mm cannon.  This particular aircraft was assembled at the Hinterbruhl from sub-assemblies coming from several dispersed workshops.  The forward fuselage was left in NMF to save time and effort.  #635 made it's way to Leck airbase where it was captured by Allied forces in late April 1945.  It's fate remains unknown, and it was not a part of Watson's collection.

This is the old Lindberg kit from 1965 (my boxing), and best perhaps serves as what-if material.  It is pretty darn simple as you can well imagine, AND is a big plus for me .  Decals were long since toast, so I gave it a what-if scheme from what few Luftwaffe decals I could scrounge.  Finally got a bit of mojo rounded up to post some of this stuff  ;)

Best regards,

And from this angle with the stand base, it looks like it's got canards!  ;)
Whatever.

Sometimes the simplicity kit of those old kits comes as a pleasant surprise
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
