How about car markings - specifically, the Maker's Badges, Lettering, and the Model of car - i.e. 'Ford', the Blue Oval, 'Escort', '2.0', the octagonal 'MG' badge, etc etc etc.

1/24-1/25 (and 1/32, which tends to be a bit of an orphan scale.)

My reasoning is that, even in the larger scale, they can disappear under a coat or two of paint and in the smaller, forget about trying to paint them.
I have some diecast 1/32 cars which use them, they don't look too shabby at all.

I understand you may run into licensing problems - 'ware Corporate Sharks err, Lawyers - but some generic lettering that happens to be the right Font and Size could get around that.
Or do what I saw done on a remould of the old Moon Rocket, a transfer calling it the 'Fastway Express', since TWA wouldn't come to the party...
"FLOORD", "HOLD-EN", etc, maybe.

Just some stray thoughts from Left Field.  ;)

HI!  Yes, I am really interested in this - would you mind emailing me or PMing me here if you have the serial, colours etc.  Was speaking to Joe about it earlier.  Excellent suggestion

Surely, I'll look it out when I get home at the weekend. I have the definitive Court Line book that goes into some detail about the aircraft.

They actually took delivery of it, but never got around to painting it or using it, a great pity as we might have had two Bevs in existence now instead of just one.

Sheets of serial codes for cancelled aircraft - TSR2, Spiteful, Seafang, etc.  Plus cancelled batches of Spitfires, Sea Furies, Tempests.
I'll second these!

If it were to seal the deal as it were, I'm even willing to do the research and give you the relevant serials.

I was reading a book on the Court Line earlier - was quite an incredible vision they had - the branding was incredible.  I am very interested in this as a larger project to be honest

Re decals for cancelled aircraft - yes, I think it has to go on the list.

I think it has to be done, don't you?  I have a couple of projects currently but I'd appreciate any research you can provide, thank you!!

There are very few Court Line decal sheets on the market, the Microscale one for the Tri-Star is the only one I know of, and that's long OOP. The colours are quite difficult to reproduce, either by painting or with decals, as they're so bizarre. Worst if the big 'COURT' on the fuselage as it's metallic silver, which is virtually impossible to print with a home inkjet or laser.

I'm still looking for my Court Line book, which one did you find?

It was colours in the sky.

I wouldn't be home printing tho.

Yes, that's the one I have too.

I know you won't be doing it like that, but a few of us on here do, and that limit's what's possible on a non-commercial level.

I know, I've been looking into what's available for printing decals and white and metallics are a real problem.

I really like the court line graphics, that style is one of my favorites.

So I have a decal request...a real world subject that I can't seem to find anywhere;  1/144 American Airlines Embraer E190.  Lots available for American Eagle E170/175s but no mainline 190 decals.  Same goes for USAirways.

I'm an Instructor Pilot on the E190 at American and would love to be able to build a model of "my" airplane. WHIF decals for the 190 in old USAir colors would be nice too.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

AeroplaneDriver

Meant to post this on the "Wish List" thread...apologies.

Is it primarily the difference in the fin size that means that E170 decals won't work, or the position of the 'American' script on the forward fuselage?

It looks as if the E190s have the script on the centreline so it's right across the windows, whereas the E170s have it below the window line.

Combination of all..."American" script size is different size and position, plus the 190 N-numbers
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I found a supplier that does a good job with white. He also offers metallic colors, but I haven't tried those yet.
