The Americans have Sherman tanks,
UK have Churchill tanks, and the Poles have 7TP in 1/72 and now in 1/35. Brand new, in March! :wacko:

Due out this month, IBG are releasing  3 different versions of  the Scammel Pioneer in 1/72nd scale. Tank transporter  with trailer, artillery  truck and heavy  recovery truck.  Will be getting  at least one of these cost permitting, as there is not much  out there vehicle wise that covers  post war and early  cold war, for my RAF builds.

Looking at Hannants Future releases section IBG are bringing out what looks like some nice early WWII British armour in 1/72 but also some 1/72 Fw 190 D's of various sub-types including some armed with projected weaponry.

I was trying to explain this to Nick on Sunday, but thought it might be better to post a link.

This is the future IBG release I've pre-ordered https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/IBG72540?result-token=QdUkT

They are also doing a D-9

Torpedo doesn't look like any of the RW versions I could find (I could only find 3 of them, total, & one only appeared in a WarThunder article, & they all appear to be the same aircraft);

There is a thread on Secret Projects regarding the "torpedo-bombs" (Bombentorpedo (BT)) though, which seems to have an image of a FW-190 carrying a torpedo-bomb;

https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/german-bt-torpedo-bomb-projects.18301/

There is this photo (below), where someone queries whether it's a Ta 152 C-1 with Rockets (although I think it may be a BT 700(+?)). Personally, I think the nose is too short for either a FW-190D or a Ta-152 variant & that it's a regular FW-190A variant (note: B & C variants never made it past prototype)

Anyway, just waffling on, if not actually rambling. I'll stop, now. ;D

I've seen an illustration of the weapon IBG are doing somewhere and I must admit it doesn't look like any torpedo I've seen before. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Hopefully the kit instructions will explain more when I get it  ;)

The BT weapons appear to have been designed to be dropped much like a torpedo (some of them seem to have been rocket powered, too), drop into the water then travel through the water to explode under the keel of the target ship. There is a lot of debate/argument/ridicule regarding the claimed range of the BT (2800m?? :unsure:) when dropped from 200m(??) & its potential effectiveness.

Personally, I think it was another Wunderwaffe project meant to save the 3rd Reich, albeit on a budget (the BT's were considerably cheaper & easier to make than regular torpedoes).

Totally agree, but it'll make an interesting model  ;)

IBG are coming out with some interesting 1/72 armour. Good to see something different

Plus a Toldi tank destroyer that there's no piccie for yet. Wish my eyes were up to it, although their armour is relatively easy to build.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks Mossie  ;D

I saw the IAR 80 on Hannants this morning  :thumbsup:  About time we had a decent kit of the type. I've got a couple of the A-Model boxings, and it's one of their better kits, but it will be nice to have a modern tooling. IBG can be fiddly, but they are nice.

I wasn't aware the Finn's used the Charioteer  :unsure:  Anyway always liked these late war British types, but need to look at the spprues first as some of IBG's armour kits are "easy build" and some are not. I can build the first type, but the later is far to fiddly nowadays especially in 1/72  :-\
