Good evening Gentlemen,

Making some progress towards my Telford release program, not all whif related but hopefully something to interest you.

Just sent new decal artwork to Fantasy Printshop for a revised RAF/RAE P.177R kit, which includes upgraded and new parts, including proposed forward canards. I'm also releasing the Ground Attack parts separately for anyone who has the kit already. Decals include some previously included in the original RAF kit released twelve years ago, and new ones covering Fighter and Ground Attack options in operational and test markings.  I'm waiting for canopies to arrive from Rob Taurus, if they don't arrive in time I might still release the kit and post canopies on afterwards.

Another revised re-issue will be the Hawker P.1109A with TSR2 testing markings, decals being for WW598 in an overall white colour scheme, and potentially one smaller whif set I'll keep to myself for now as its last on the list to do and might not be ready.

Factual but with whif potential will be a 1/72 Lancaster ASR.III/GR.3 conversion for the Airfix kit, and an accurate Mk.2A Airborne Lifeboat to go with it. Following on from the success of my upgrades for very old kits, will be a Canberra B.(I)8 upgrade set for the Frog kit with an accurate gun pack, wing pylons and training bombs for all those patiently waiting in your stashes. These will fit on other Canberra kits including the new S&M B.6 kit that might be released at the show.

Last up from me will be an new Injection Moulded 1/72 Supermarine Seafire Mk.Ib kit produced in cooperation with  Kovozavody Prostejov/AZ Model, using their HQT mould Spitfire Mk.Vb base kit with resin parts and Fantasy Printshop decals included in the package.

Sharing my stand as usual will be Dave Little of Combat Kits, who having taken over the Magna range in 2017 will have a few reworked kits available. In 1/72 will be the Single and Twin engine Pioneers, whilst in 1/48 will be the Blackburn Firebrand TF.II and TF.5 (the Firebrand kits will be a small pre-production batch, very limited until production kit goes on sale next year). These kits are almost unrecognisable to their earlier Magna relatives, metal, resin and clear resin (in the Pioneers) now cast commercially, with Fantasy Printshop decals.  The kits have been re-worked by Phil Edwards, who mastered most of the AlleyCat range amongst others, and surface detail is up to a very high standard.
So that is what I hope will be ready, of course several factors could get in the way between now and the show, so I will keep my fingers crossed.

One could find its way into my bag I think  ;)

Thanks for the Magna update Colin, sounds interesting

The main things I would be looking for from reworked Magna molds are the Sperrin, Beverley and Ashton. Any idea if/when those will appear again?
All hail 1:72!

You would need to ask Dave Little about those as the level of interest and demand will determine how viable the remanufacture will be. There is quite a bit of work and costs involved in bringing the Magna kits up to modern standards in terms of quality in terms of the resin, the white metal, and the decals.
I suspect the Beverley may be under consideration as it was an operational RAF transport type but not sure when it would be out as I know Dave has got at least one of the bigger kits in redevelopment but that will be 2019 at least.

A nice selection of new or revised Freightdog items there Colin, will we see a Royal Navy re-boxing of the SR177 at some stage in the future although i would really love to see the P1154 re-issued and possibly revamped as you have done with the SR-177.

If the Ashton was revised properly, he could probably get a Tudor out of it, certainly a Tudor VIII with the Nenes.  I've a few thoughts on how to do it, so I'll ask Colin to do the relative introductions.

Very much so Geoff. Hopefully I can have a quick word with Dave at Telford to see what his plans are ?

Everything in the range that hasn't been superseded by an injection kit will get reworked but it will take some time, a couple are in work now but I can't say which, none of the above yet though.

If there is enough interest in the SR.177 re-vamp then I might do te Royal Navy one, but all the naval parts are included in the RAF boxing, just no decals. The P.1154 will get revised and re-issued at some point, hopefully next year.

I think the single engine Pioneer is going to be £30, and the twin is £45.

The Wooksta!

Seen the photos of the Seafire on Facebook.  Definitely want a pair now.  The fuselage inserts for the exhausts look to be rather useful for other AZ/KP Spitfires.  May be worth thinking of releasing them separately.

Hi chaps, a couple more Telford releases that might be of interest that are now confirmed as ready, both from Combat Kits in 1/72 ;

Avro Lancastrian Nene testbed conversion (for Airfix Lancaster)

BAE Mantis UAV complete kit

The Mantis was not going to be released as the decals are not ready, but a sample batch were cast up, so Dave has decided to release the kit which might be of interest to whif modellers wanting to put in operational markings. Its a great kit, resin with white metal detail parts and bigger than you would think. The Mantis UAV will be £25, the Nene Lancastrian should be around the same price (this also does not have decals but is just standard roundels and black codes).

From myself I have a small whif set for the Airfix RAF Phantom FGR.2, proposed Redtop missiles and pylons, these will be £4.50 a set.

My Canberra B.(I)8 weapons set has faltered as the small training bombs were difficult to cast, so I will only have a few of these for the show.

Thanks,

Colin
