What about Special Hobby  :-\  they're the same company

No mate Special Hobby are separate and include what were known as Azure and MPM and possibly Fromm as well, although they were/are a co-operative (mind you so were Azure) plus some other bits and bobs. Must admit I've got a little confused with their re-branding exercise. I think I know why, but not 100% sure. They are listed on the Traders page of the IPMS website.

The two "separated at birth" companies in my view are AZ and RS. So similar and yet so different.

The other one that confuses me at times is Eduard. Not sure why they name their resin bits and bobs ranges "Brassin" and "Quickboost!, rather then sell them all under the Eduard name ? Now I can understand the differentiation between Brassin and Quickboost, but it all smacks of paying some flash marketing company to look at your products and then having to use their recommendations because the shareholders will string you up otherwise

Yet more signs of getting old I suppose  ;)

Odd, now I thought Quickboost was part of Airies

I think some of it has to do with consumers being more forgiving of, and feeling more sympathy for, small companies than large ones. This leads bigger companies to rebrand their different divisions to give the impression that they're a 'loose alliance' of small companies rather than one monolithic industry giant.

Will be on the lookout for a FROG/NOVO or any FROG repop of their Percival Proctor for whiffery, chaps.  Meanwhile have contacted Collectakit to see if they have any left.

Not after the swanky new Dorawings kit, just something cheap and cheerful for whiffing!

one monolithic industry giant.

LOL, having been introduced to Vlad, the owner of Eduard a few times I find it ammusing that a firm of 40-50 people is seen as an industry giant. Mind you im working on a site with about 2000 people so it twists my perception of the scale of companies within differnt industries.
Special Hobby is no differnt, they have about 30 people there, and the factory is certainly not what you would expect. Very rustic and disorganised by western standards. But it works for them. (A bit like were im working now lol)
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Yeah, but it's a matter of perceptions, not realities. The more professional their presentation and the more their range expands, the more people tend to assume that they 'must' be a big company. How many customers actually know what Eduard or Special Hobby actually look like 'in the flesh' as it were?

I hope to be in on Saturday ( Mrs SP has a craft show on sunday, so I have to chauffer,  I will miss the second day day of chatting with everybody, and I do have rather a heavy hart regarding not being with everyone for the 11:00 silence, I always find the way the site goes silent, both incredibly  moving and respectful )
I will have the normal supplies of mini rolls and Jaffa cakes
but do I need anything else? I ask as I remember a couple of people couldn't eat the normal supplies, id  bring some fruit as well if folks would rather

looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces, and seeing the wonders that you've all cooked up  <_<
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

On medical advice I'm no longer supposed to eat Jaffa Cakes, which is a big pity (Mrs_PR19 used to say 'Man cannot live on Jaffa Cakes alone, but Kit's having a good try!  ;D)

But I suppose as I'll be a LONG way from the medics in that Saturday I may try one or two......................or three.................or four................ etc. etc.  ;D
