Couple of points of note re Telford 2018:

1. Hannants are now taking orders through their website for collection at the show with no postage charge. This applies to sale items too, so if there's something cheap that you wanted but didn't want to pay the P&P on, now's your chance.

2. For IPMS members: THERE WILL BE NO MEMBERSHIP DESK ON THE FRIDAY. You need a 2018 membership card to use the kitswap and get into the show for free on Saturday and Sunday, but you won't be able to get a new card by renewing at the show on the Friday as (I presume) some people have been in the habit of doing previously. You need to renew your membership before the show, by post or via the website, and the cutoff date to guarantee getting your card back in time for SMW is midnight on the 31st October. Any renewals received after that date will get a 2019 card that won't work at this year's show.

They also don't charge you until you pick it up, but remember that if you order one kit, check out and then something else next week you end up with two orders. They don't add items to an existing order. As long as you know that's fine, if you don't it can get confusing.

As for membership I do mine by DD and new card arrived a week or so ago.

Just started to think about what I want this year. Mainly tools and bits and bobs and then a good look at the stuff on sale from our Czech and Polish friends  Have to remember I have to carry it home  ;)

Well depending on what he can get ready for the show, I might want a LOT from Mel at S&M:

Westland Wasp (at least 1)
FV432  (at least 2)
MUSTARD spaceplane (1 or 3 depending on how cheap it isn't)

I've got a discounted AZ Hurricane V on order with Hannants to pick up, because I want to nick the 40mm guns for a Typhoon.

That would look good

Tempests were trialed with them, but in a much more streamlined fitting.

I don't think there's anything I'm after.  Even cheap Spitfires, given that I'm quite literally at saturation point. Although maybe some two seaters...

Although apparently there's an early rerelease of the Magna 48th Firebrand TF.5.  Not my scale but I could be tempted with one.

I've had some paperwork arrive for this years shindig.

They have asked us to supply one person on the Saturday between 16:00 and 17:00 to help on the IPMS merchandise stand. Any body willing to put their hand up?

And we are down for our usual "QRA" role on the Sunday. So don't be surprised if I ask for some help if the need arises..................

I'll give the merchandise stand job a go OGL, I have 'previous retail experience', albeit 50 yrs ago.  ;D ;)

Project Cancelled have got QRA both day's.

Nice position in Hall2 being in the middle again for a change, although its probably not quite so clever for the clear down on Sunday Night as not near any main exits and their associated Car Parks.

As for wants list, nothing too major, certainly some stuff from Whirlybird such as their new Whirlwind HAS7, their re-issued Supermarine 545 and RN Sea King SAR conversion set for the new Airfix HAR3 kit,
Looking forward to see what surprise Colin has lined up and wondering what Mach 2 will do this year.
Considering all we have seen this year from Mel of S and M is the sprue shots of the FV432 I rather suspect the Wasp/Scout kits are still on the drawing board especially as Micromir have been doing 48th Helicopters in their own range.

The Airfix big announcement is set for Saturday at 11:00am, so hooray they haven't fluffed things as they did last year be announcing the new kits over the year in their blog and had to can announcing the Hunter at SMW2017 as nothing else left for the official 2018 range announcement at the start of the New Year. Only trouble is they are saying something big, so probably either a 48th kit or the longer awaited revamp of the Vulcan although it may be a new 1/24th kit. They may surprise us with a model of the new QNLZ carrier but unlikley

Kit's beaten me to the sales job, but more then happy to put myself up for the "QRA" Martin.

Do we know where we are yet ?

We are in hall 2 Chris. Near to the revell stand.

QRA is much the same as it was for RAF lightnings Kit. We are on stand by to help fill last minute gaps caused by a no show for a volunteer slot. Could be any role. Or with any luck we dont get called out.

The big Airfix announcement: so maybe the Lysander is 1/24 not 1/72.

Given how wobbly the Matchbox 1/32 example is, I wouldn't want to transport a built 1/24 Lysander to a show...
