The balloon diorama is magnificent.

Amazing, we must have been at different shows as I can only remember about half of those.  :banghead:

Super pics nonetheless.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Second that, the 3D/BW idea is great.

Thanks for the pics. Wonderful job.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them. Really enjoyed last year's visit. I missed being there this year.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

The SMW Competition album:

I like the busts of the SAS raiders (photo 76) - nicely done.

The yellow Wessex (105) is very atmospheric.

The multi-level 127 & 128 are cool too.

From the Telford Album:
The Yellow dumper (113) has some nice, realistic weathering.

And the Tilly at 146 has definitely seen better days, but nicely rendered

The scratch lighthouse at 173 is cool and different

the bus dio at 195 is an interesting idea, executed well.

the 1/1 disaster at 209 brings back memories... and a sympathetic smile and head nod

the Commando Comics covers modelled at 223 is pretty neat - I still have to finish mine, but oh well...

quite appropriate to see the "Last Watch" vignette again at 246

Thanks heaps for sharing!

Great pics.  One year I am going to be at the right end of the world to attend this.

Thanks for sharing.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Glad somebody from here made it into the competition area with a camera: I didn't get a chance!

My pics are currently (slowly) uploading to Flickr...

Nice to see this one because I've got the same Revell tugboat in the stash with much the same plan, i.e. a not-breaking-the-bank-for-an-IM-kit version of an Ian McQue craft. He's even done what I had in mind, that is he's inverted the main deckhouse to make a recessed cargo area

Hobby Boss Hokum & Airfix Beaufighter definitely. The write-up seems to mention metal parts. The tail-planes may be cut down Beaufighter parts but I'm not very confident about that, however the supports are made from rotor blades (probably the Hokum's). The tail wheel could be either the Beaufighter tail wheel or, more likely, the Hokum nose wheel.

I'm fairly sure the builder tried to use only Beaufighter & Hokum parts but the tail planes are bugging me.

Cheers for the photos Al. Rather like Kit I sometimes wonder if I'm at the same show  ;D

See you at Huddersfield/Halifax
