I consider building this in plastic, 1/72 Heller, if I get a Mustang kit for Christmas. P-51D looking like Bv P.208.

And I have received the kit yesterday:

I thanked my sister, and it was in November, much too early to open the parcel, but... we are now in December, and my son (9y.o.) doesn't believe anymore that Santa Claus does exist... so here is the content, yes.

Among the 52 parts of the kit, here are the 14 I am going to use (+ 2 pieces of sprues):

Gluing has started, with the help of my 9 y.o. son:

As the A is for asymmetric, I plan to increase asymmetry (say: to counter torque of the single propeller).
Instead of a single fin on starboard, I will use as fin on starboard a part that was a tailplane, and what was the fin part (truncated) will become a little tailplane on the port side:

Today I am a little ill and I do not go in the workbench room, cold, maybe tomorrow.
I have just played with the computer to make a top view:

Classified, the parts make the P-51P-208A appear, almost:

And now, I build the new nose with putty, layer by layer:

After the N-th putty layer dries, tomorrow this will be ready to sand into a new nose:
