I found this set of Tweezers in Target today for £1

Sorry for the blurry picture quality but you get the idea.

There was also an almost identical packet also available for £2.99 just a few hooks away from the set I bought. I had previously visited Hobby Craft and they were selling an almost identical pack for just under £10. Think I got the better deal

My tweezers are stainless steel items retrieved from first aid kits at work.
Although pointless, all supplies in the kits had "use by" dates on them and so had to be replaced when they ran out.  It was cheaper to buy a whole new kit than individual items so I got to bring the old kits home (were there is no danger of a safety audit).
I also got stainless steel scissors from the same source.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Why would tweezers have a 'use by' date? Does stainless steel fatigue just by existing?  :o :o :o

The tweezers and scissors didn't have a use by date.  But almost everything else in the kit did.
Apparently sterile saline hermetically sealed in a plastic phial is suddenly going to become "bad" the moment it reaches a certain time after its manufacture.  Likewise elastic bandages, plasters and chemical cold packs.

Hmmm, an interesting comment on the 'throw away' society we find ourselves living in............ :o

Family Rheged's first aid kit was augmented in the same way.  Our own safety audit is "I don't like the look of that" or "That will do".

A few years ago,  I had a friend in a hospital lab test a sealed six years out of date bottle of eye wash liquid and a sealed eight year out of date dressing pack.  Both came back as "absolutely fresh and pure, and perfectly  fit for use".  Is the use by date really the 'Elf 'n' Safety staff being  cautious, or is it all a marketing ploy by First Aid kit makers?

Both of the above, it's a conspiracy, and working against US!

Certainly good value that's for sure.

The only "problem" with that type of tweezers is that I find they eventually lose their spring and the tips wont close properly, but at that price what the heck and I have a similar set.

I also have some stainless steel ones with very fine points which are amazingly heavy for their size. Not sure where I got them from, but I think a friends daughter who is a midwife got them for me. Think they are used when stitching patients ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
