I don't think I have heard anything good about Unicraft either.

Mach 2 stuff isn't that good, but by comparison to Unicraft they are Gold Medal standard.

Some Unicraft stuff isn't buildable at all!  :banghead: :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Anyone have any thoughts on Mach 2's Dassault Mystere Falcons? I've been thinking about getting my hands on one, but the company's reputation precedes it, so I'm hesitant.
Thanks!

I usually read the review on Britmodeller first, before buying the kit.

Bear in mind that Scalemates says the kit first came out in 1992.
Here's one review: https://modelingmadness.com/scott/mod/previews/mach2/074.htm

Glowing review here  : Mach 2 have a reputation of suppling not the best kits on the block and this kit doesn't disappoint!

If you can find (and afford) one the Scratchaeronautics resin kit sounds good but he seems to have run out. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Scratchaeronautics/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1296456640387390

I've got one of the Falcon kits, the one that does either the RCAF version or the USCG version (correction) the Mystere 20, Falcon Gardian or Falcon 2000. I bought JBot Decals for it to do a CAF/RCAF variant . From memory of looking at the plastic, it didn't look too bad, I haven't built it yet but I could dig it out and take some pics of it if you like. Just got to go find it though ---

Later: Looking at the major parts like fuselage and wings, they all seem to match up very well, none of what has been reported over the years about misalignments etc.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

You probably have one of the good ones...

I bought the DH Comet 4C at Telford, largely on impulse, and a more knowledgeable member of Wor Club tore it apart accuracywise.  Then again, he did work on 1:1 scale versions.

Thanks for the comments.  After I sat down and thought about it for a bit, I realized that for the most part the fit and alignment aren't going to matter terribly since my plan is to chop it up and marry up the parts to bits from at least two other planes anyway.

I'm pretty sure that process will glaze over a few inconsistencies...
Thanks!

There ISN'T anything good you can say about this purveyor of the most abysmal model kits (and I use the term in it's loosest possible sense) in the history of humanity.  Badly shaped ill cast lumps of resin that vaguely resemble aircraft parts...  I've thrown away better castings than Igor is charging top whack for.  You're better off scratching your own bits from balsa.  And he's charging top end CMR prices for a product that makes the very worst products of Merlin look like Tamiya or Eduard.

Avoid as though your life depends on it.

I discover today this topic and I am deeply shocked. I made an Alouette II from Mach 2 and I was very satisfied. If you dislike, this is your own right, but yelling this is absolutely awful and to be refused is like offense to the ones thinking differently. :-\

The box illustrations are nice  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
