Yet another kit I've never seen.

Are the missile and helicopter to the same scale ? Just looks slightly outrageous, but so much of the period.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Make sure it has the clear plastic sprue in it... Last year we found a who unopened case of these and none of the kits (20 or so) did not have the clear sprues. Also, some of the decal sheets were missing.

1/32 isn't unusual for car kits (also trucks and buses).  It's the "usual" scale for slot cars.
Have a look on HLJ.com

Yep, and I converted a pile of the Airfix 1/32 cars to run with Scalextric running gear back in the 60's

I had the old Adams/LifeLike 1/40th kit many moons ago.

Oh, dear me! I've three of them in the stash!  ;D

Remove the missiles and put it on floats. Civilian paint scheme and two guys out fishing....

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Some decals arrived yesterday...

F-16 "Dark Vipers" sheet for ANG F-16s in Have Glass scheme.  This will go on a RW build of a South Carolina ANG F-16 a work buddy flew.
F-104 Bicentennial markings sheet.

Both in 1/48
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Nipped back in to Transport models today on my way to the girlfriends, swapped the micro set for the micro film I actually wanted. Oh, and come out with an Airfix phantom fgr2. Not sure what's going to happen to it, but I got a fiver off the price, which is nice.

Not quite a model kit, but I'm going to enjoy building this.

Chris Payne

Just one kit today from the Halifax model show.

Airfix 1/72 McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2
Chris.

2014 EKFP Total = 8
2015 EKFP Total = 6
2016 EKFP Total = 2
2017 EKFP Total = 7
2018 EKFP Total = 3

The Wooksta!

Took away very little from Halifax.  Lots of traders, quite a few selling second hand tat at extortionate prices, especially wockney canker Uncle Albert from Kit Krazy.  "Tell me what you want?" he cries.  Just cease trading, you f***tard! I mumble soto voce.

Anyway, I struggled to find anything to buy, finally succumbing to a Tasman Airspeed Oxford for a fiver (missed it at Bolton), some Aeroclub bits (Venom u/c and Wyvern prop) and  an AZ Hurricane mk IV.

Ended up with quite a haul from Halifax, although I initially formed much the same impression as Lee. Bargains were there to be had however, depending on what you were interested in, of course.

Ace 1/72nd Tiran 6 (Westernised T-62 tank)
Ace 1/72nd Tiran 4/5 (Westernised T-54/55 tank) inc. resin wheel set.
Hasegawa 1/72nd Aircraft Weapons II (US guided bombs and gun pods)
Amodel 1/72nd Aero 45
Revell 1/72nd Mirage IIIE/R
Airfix 1/72nd Phantom FGR.2
2 x bagged S&M Stawart Mk.2s

Decals:

ESCI 1/72nd F-5A Freedom Fighter set: RCAF, 2 x USAF, Greece, VNAF, Spanish, Imperial Iranian, Dutch, Norwegian schemes
Mole Military Miniatures Letraset Canadian Armed Forces set (flags and lettering)
Mole Military Miniatures Letraset Canadian roundels set
Bright Spark Decals Indian Air Force Post 1948 script and roundels (blue and green/orange chakras) - so pretty I couldn't resist it...
Microscale 1/72nd A-7 Corsair II sheet: includes a Spirit of '76 scheme that I've not seen before and an unusual 'cartoon mouth' intake triangle
Microscale 1/72nd F-18 Hornets: Canadian, USN and USMC schemes

I paid a visit to the Halifax show too but as not displaying only end up there for a couple of hours. As soon as I got there I was steered toward a guy who had created his own large scale Buccaneer and Gannet AEW, but had also done a 1/700 CVA-01, after the initial OOOH, close inspection revealed a lack of research data, it felt like it had been based on a simple 3 view using a cut down US Supercarrier kit as the hull just seemed a little too tall and too square and the features just showed a lack of research and understanding  :banghead:, so I walked away without asking about the purchase possibilities (which as it was solid resin, would have been a bit expensive!)

Instead I picked up:
Warpaint book on the Fairey Gannet
Airfix Phantom FG1
Modeldecal sheet 20 which has a pair of RN Buccaneer schemes
Modeldecal sheet 67 which has the Falklands Sea Harriers

Felt just like the Hudderfield show of old, cramped, crowded and crap catering, so some new traders but also some missing traders.
