And if anyone knows anything about the origins of the Catalina, if it is a Revell brand new tool or is say someone elses reboxed i'd be glad to know.

The 'Big Book' seems to indicate it's their own tooling, but it's not new. Does your boxing have any of these numbers; H-107, H-211, H-227, H-576, 0277, 4370, 4520 or 4522.

A set of 1/24 racing seat belts for my brother's Caterham Seven model.

I'll have to scale myself down a few sizes to assemble the bits, they're TINY!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This Catalina will get built and wiffed.

As the last one I had a few years back was virtually unbuildable.

Thanks everyone for the hints and pointers but the real world now intervenes.

The word 'Academy' is there in BFO letters.  I can't read German either, but I can read the odd English word!

For all I know it could be just comparing it to the Academy kit.  I've got a few of those so maybe I'll get one of these Revell kits and see for myself.

My resin Beaufighter conversion parts have *finally* arrived from Alleycat after a seven week wait - the money went out of the account within a day or two and I have to wait nearly two months for delivery?    I'm not happy with this at all - he really needs a better business model when the likes of, say Freightdog, can have the relevant bits out within days.  And it's not just me either as I know quite a few people who are decidedly unhappy with the wait.

There's quite a few other bits and bobs I'd like from him, but frankly, I'm not putting up with the wait.  Never again.

Today arrived my Freightdog Avro 720 rocket fighter. Very nice kit I must say. Just one thing though, is it supposed to have building instructions with it? I can work out where everything is supposed to go just about, but maybe I am missing something. There is a painting guide however. This might be fleet air arm yet.

This page indicates it is the Academy mould.  In which case the undercarriage is a complete PiTA, made in too many separate parts and IMO not suitable to support the weight of the completed model.
I replaced the front leg with a piece of paper clip wire and reinforced the mains with lashings of epoxy but I still don't trust it to hold the thing up for more than 20 minutes.
If I build another I will source an SAC white metal set.
