I finally received this from the postie...

...after three crossings of The Nullarbor* thanks to a misprinted label.

*Australian for "no wuckin' trees mate" - a big straight place between Western Australia and the rest of the world.

I  calculate that as 900 or so miles.  NULL  ARBOR, as the Romans would say, is indeed no trees but (as the Romans didn't say) is a 300 mile dead straight railway line.  I'm sure there is some Whiffery potential here.

I've driven across it.  It has a 90 mile straight.  Every roadhouse has what they claim is part of Skylab on the roof.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

PE detail set for the gargantuan-ish 1/72 RAAF B707.  Howitzers also arrived for the civil gunship. They look miles better than the photos of them. Kind of the reverse of fast food!

A 300 mile long dead-straight railway line? Sounds like the perfect launch site for a bigger version of this:

I always get the impression that Herr Chaos does a weekly round of the Berlin model shops and denudes them of anything vaguely 'non standard'.  ;D ;)

When I lived there, there was quite a good model shop in Tempelhofer Damm, just south of the airfield.

Is it still there?

Not a model for the stash but it was bought with modelling in mind, a rotary tool with the bits to go on it. Bought at the local Lidl store for 25€, i hope it lasts long enough to be worth the money. Will be very useful for plastic surgery...  ;D

The key thing with cheap rotary tools for plastic modelling is not how fast they can go, but how SLOW they can go: it's far too easy to end up melting plastic rather than drilling it. What makes Dremels and the like expensive isn't the motor, it's the speed-controller.

If you can find one, get yourself one of the flexible drives.  Trying to do delicate work holding the tool like a pen isn't made any easier by the gyroscopic effect of the spinning motor inside the handle.

I have one of those multi tools, the battery let's it down, and the motor stalls very easily, not used it on any models as yet, but  the lack of power made me shove it on the naughty shelf

From that thar Bay of Evil:

Yeoman 1/72nd McDonnell F-101 Voodoo decal sheet covering USAF & Canadian options

It's 2nd hand and cheap so I took a chance on it, but it's yellowed and I'm not sure how usable it is, to be honest... :-\
