I also bought 3 sizes of the Molotow chrome pens. I've been hearing more about them lately and have seen people achieving impressive results.

Went to the Bristol Model Railway Show today, and bought a whole load of tools and other sundries at the Squires stand. It's fatal, once I get in their stand I just CAN'T get out without buying something.

This time it was a piercing saw frame and some blades (my old one broke in half. :()
Some Deluxe Perfect Plastic Putty, never tried it before.
A bottle of MekPak.
A bottle of Iso-propyl alcohol.
A one bristle paint brush (well nearly, I haven't counted them yet but they're aren't very many...)
Some Xuron cutters, my last set vanished about a year ago. :(
Three tins of various Humbrol Metalcote paint.

And from another stand a five coach set of N gauge NYC Lightweight passenger cars for the Lake Shore Limited.
And an N gauge wood, Perspex, etched brass and vinyl overlay kit of the Devon Belle Observation car, which I travelled on when I was 7 years old. Nostalgia unlimited.  ;D

In case you haven't a clue what I'm going on about, here's a pic of the self same observation that I rode on, but now it's running on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

new at my stash.

Be careful with the Fujimi armour kits - they bought a lot of the old Nitto tools and reboxed them.  AFAIK, Fujimi never tooled a Panzer III, so I suspect that's a Nitto tool.  The King Tiger artwork is the same as Fujimi's own tooling from the 80s but Nitto also did a King Tiger in two variations (Henschel and Porsche turrets).  Fujimi did their own Jagdtiger but Nitto did too.

TBH, the Nitto kits are probably better - you get a lot more detail to go into them - but just watch what you're buying.

Great for filling narrow gaps and tidying seams up, but not for structural purposes. I sometimes thin a little bit with some water and run it into really tiny/narrow gaps around canopies etc.

Like you I have memories of riding on the Devon Belle

I spent the entire trip from Waterloo to Ilfracombe in the Observation Car, wearing a badge marked 'Unaccompanied Minor' ;D and the stewardess lady sat me in the curved seat right at the back, in front of the map of the route.

The late Mrs_PR19 and I reproduced that scene when riding in the same car 64 yrs. later!

Note the Summer Hat, it was a tad warm.  ;D

I might put the MiG and the Sabre into a dogfight display while the Phantom could get a RW RAAF scheme.

Believe me when you were 4 or 5 it looked like the interior of a large ship  ;D

Somewhere I've got quite a few pics of the rest of the Observation Car, it's pretty impressive. I'll see if I can dig them out.

Visited a toy fair at Abergavenny market hall this morning , managed to pick up an Airfix Vulcan for a fiver and a 1/600 Airfix Ark Royal for £3, was thinking this was a bargain . Got home and found the Vulcan box also had five brand new tinlets of Humbrol paint in it , result or what ? .

Am I the only one thinking about attaching the Vulcans wings to the Ark Royal?

I may have got a bit carried away last week as today one of these arrived.
