Same here. Not much of a bomber guy myself but that one looks very good indeed. Congrats, Lee!

Ok, i know, i said no more kits but i was looking at a Portuguese shop's online catalog and found a rare gem, the Wingman's 1/48 Alpha jet of the PoAF limited edition superkit series... There were only 750 kits released and i'd thought that i would never be able to buy one before they were all gone and thought that they'd all be gone by now but to my surprise, this store still has some available.
At first i thought it had to be a listing error but i went ahead and made the order, which was accepted and then delivered today...
It's the Kinetic plastic with a nice bag of resin goodies, PE fret and metal pitot and AoA probes, canopy and wheel masks and excellent decal sheets for a bunch of the PoAF's trainers and demo team "Asas de Portugal". The kit is not cheap but the extras that are in the box make it a good deal when compared to buying a normal Kinetic box and then adding all the extras.

As i was in a real world mood, i bought the Heller Alouette III for a rw build, too... and it was also a good excuse to get free shipping. ;D

Several purchases from a not-so-local model shop last weekend - always dangerous...
- Airfix Hs 123
- Airfix D.H. 88 Comet
- Hasegawa Kawasaki T-4 (old mould)
- KPM Aero L-159A ALCA
- Matchbox Me 262
...plus a handful Modelmaster enamels, which are not imported from the USA anymore.

The stash does not get smaller...  :-\

The Wooksta!

Uncle Frank had the newest AZ Bf 109G-12 two seater for me.  I'm quite tempted with an RAF communications one post war but I rather like the look of the kit decals for a Czech one, although if I do that one, I'd have to give it the larger wheels and bulges to twist reality just a tad.

Impulse buy at $5 a piece. This are neat, they're really easy to assemble with things going on like wings and fuselage as one piece, etc.

And this which was actually a trade deal:

From today's Elstree show:

  • decals for: foreign F-86Ds, Blenheim Is, Hawker Hart family and some Mosquito stencils
  • Warpaint Bristol Buckingham/Buckmaster/Brigand bookazine
  • recent release KP Aero L-159T ALCA (for real world); interesting  sprues - based on the Eduard L-39/59/159?
  • ancient KP L-29 for whiffery

Saving pennies now for Telford. Yes I'm a tightwad but there's nothing out on release a the moment that I really want to buy - stuff promised for release later this year (e.g. Freightdog conversions and Airfix Demon/Bulldog repops ooh yes please!

EDIT: looked at the Eduard sprues online.  Hmm.  KP kit may not be a coy but some parts (e.g. wings and the main u/c arrangement) look 'inspired' by the Eduard kit.

At the new Elstree show (we should consider a SIG stand next year) I only bought one thing.

AModel Cobalt 50 Valkyrie. It was only £22 which is cheaper than anywhere online. Looks fabulous in the box, soft plastic as fits the limited production run of 500.

Spey_Phantom

came back from a party north of the border tonight, managed to get a few stasha ditions from the LHS before it closed for the night  ;D

-Revell 1/144 F-14A Black Tomcat (to be painted in Area 88 colors)
-2 x Revell 1/72 BAe Hawk T.1 "red arrows" (both the old (with swiss decals) and new boxings)

It's immaculate, brotha! In glorious shape.....    the other stuff is nice, too. It came with a spare set of ATP American Airlines decals for the DC-10, A-330, or 767 then yet another sheet....    Draw decals' DC-10 windows and doors set.

This Mexicana livery looks really sharp on the DC-10....    I'm pretty fortunate to have snagged this lil feller, made my day.
