Luckily I know a woman who runs a jewellery shop and she GAVE me about a dozen of these wires! RESULT!

Was that before or after you had your ears pierced Kit  ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Not ruddy likely! I get enough pain from scalpel blades already thanks.

This one's on the home straight now, should be done this afternoon.  ;D

JOB DONE!

Got it done in time, phew. Lots of detail stuff, like TINY rear view mirrors, the smallest of which is only about 3 x 2 x 1 mm, and painting the lights, adding the rear gravel guard panels with Bare Metal Foil etc.

And the case arrived y'day so all I have to do is get it to the rendezvous tomorrow.  ;D

A few pics of the finished article.

The rear of the car is plastered with sponsor decals, all of which I home printed after a mammoth artwork session on my laptop.

Rear view of the real thing, for comparison.

Now a couple of shots of the model in the case.

Wow! What a beautiful job. I am sure your brother will be duly flabbergasted!
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

I'll report on his level of flabbergastedness tomorrow afternoon.  ;D

Oh yes, I meant to mention the case, it came from Just Bases, who do superb work. They're not cheap, but the quality of their wood and Perspex construction is magnificent. This is the second of their custom size cases I've bought and I'm well impressed.

In order that the model doesn't scoot around inside the case and damage itself I had to devise a scheme that held it in place yet would allow it to be taken out sometimes so that viewers could 'Ooooh' and 'Aaaaah' at it.

So I drilled holes in the base, inserted and superglued short lengths of piano wire, and then drilled matching holes in the tyres so that the model can be placed over the wires.

The holes in the tyres had to be twice the size of the piano wire as the rubber just closes up otherwise, and it's still a drama to position the model properly, but the system does work,

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

He was totally amazed, very pleasing.

We had lunch in a pub across the Severn from me and he made me 'unveil' it on the table. Before you could blink an eyelid we were surrounded by half the pub's customers gawping at it too!  :o

All a bit embarrassing actually, but it made all the effort worthwhile. My brother's going to video when he does the same for his mate tomorrow dinner time, that's got to be worth seeing.  ;D

Another item up to your usual standard, and by the sound of it a properly appreciative audience.  Don't be embarrassed, just sit back and enjoy the well deserved plaudits!!
