Bonus idea: paint an A319 up like the motor launch and park it beside.

A British Caledonian A320 would be another nice option - that would be AFAIK a real world whif, since BC ordered the type but BA took the airline as well as the order over...  :rolleyes:

I've got some BCal decals too, designed for the DC10 but well scannable and shrinkable..........  ;)

Many years ago I did a software project for BA and for a pique we used the BCal pinstripe colours as the palette for the documentation  :wacko:

The BEA A319 came into Belfast yesterday and despite being primarily grey immediately made the current BA livery look boring.  Perhaps not the effect they had intended!

The trouble with the current BA scheme, called 'Chatham Dockyard', is that it IS so common and it's been around for ages.

It was the preferred choice from the large number of 'Ethnic liveries' when they switched to one scheme back in 1999. Personally I loved the variety of the whole batch of the 'Ethnics' and I wish they'd kept them all, but by now it's surely time for a change.

The third BA Retro scheme IS a Landor 747.  ;D

G-BNLY was just rolled out, and looks very handsome.

That just looks like what I think of if I think of a BA 747.

According to wikipedia the Landor scheme was dropped because it carried an air of arrogance and detachment.
Does this mean they once again want to appear arrogant and detached?

Arrogant and detached is IME a perfect description of BA cabin crew.

Or perhaps the guy who decided to drop the scheme was too detached himself and didn't understand that it also made the airline seem 'Top Class' and 'Exclusive', which is what it was..........?
