Very nice.  However, you didn't tell us enough about the crew!   :banghead:

Thanks Loupy, that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me.

Very nice.  However, you didn't tell us enough about the crew!   :banghead:
The pilot is Ginger Peg.  A former arborist (with his two brothers*), he lost his leg below the knee in a freak mulching accident.  Ever since then he can't stand the sight of trees and the Nullarbor is the only place he can find peace.
Peg is accompanied by Bob, a Norwegian Blue Crested Penguin.  Bob has no sense of direction and just swam into the Sky Pirates coastal inlet one day.  Feeling homesick** he chose to hang around when he discovered they had a good supply of pickled herring they were happy to share.
Captain Fat Hamster appreciates the irony of Sky Pirates having a flightless bird as a mascot but as he frequently points out, sea pirates had parrots and they can't swim.

*there were tree fellers...
**you could say he was pining...

You really shouldn't encourage me Chris.  ;)

This is very fragile but I managed to get it to Expo in one piece and hang it from its stand without snapping an elevator off.
The anchor is from the Airfix Air Sea Rescue launch and is possibly a bit large.  However, I decided to go with it as it could double up as a grappling hook for snagging prey.

Well done!

Yet, you somehow managed to damage the more robust KrAz?

The Over Size signs are made from pieces of aluminium from a fanta can and are superglued in place.  I caught one with a finger and while the aluminium flexed the brittle superglue let go.  If I had applied a bit more patience and used epoxy it would have remained in place.
I always break something going to a show.  At last years Expo it was the barrel of the Oerlikon on the flying boat and at this years Ballarat NNL it was the tow hook on the Dodge Ramcharger.  Maybe I should follow my own advice (regarding new carpets and sofas) and get it out of the way by deliberately breaking something off when packing?

You could build an extra, disposable bit onto every model so that IT could break off while in transit maybe?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Or, an extra, sacrificial model specifically for breaking.  A scapekit if you like.

An even better idea.

And afterwards, once it's scrambled back together in some sort of order, it's ready for another sacrifice too.  ;D
