Very pretty. Will it perch on your captain's shoulder?
It's a little large to perch on his shoulder.  It will sit in the bows of the flying dinghy and operate a Vickers K with its beak.

Oooh, aaah!  An armed and dangerous Penguin!  I do hope it isn't an Angry Bird!   :wacko:

It's a Norwegian Blue-crested Penguin.

looks nearly like RW

What do you mean, of course it is RW, just ask the Monty Python team.

The flying part of the build (as opposed to the flightless) is progressing nicely.  All components are built and I even know where most of them will go.  It is just a case of painting the bottom of the hull, weathering everything (I have some new "rust" wash to try out) and the gluing it all together.
If it comes out looking like it does in my head then i'll be building a stand to hang it from and entering it in Model Expo.  in the Ships - Large powered (1/500 & larger) class obviously...   ;D

Does he really ? I'd never noticed and as a Moderator you'd have expected me to have ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I learnt my lesson last year at Expo.  Argue with the scrutineers at your peril.  Upset them and they will make you enter your build into a class where it will win first place,
This is actually destined for the Sci-Fi class.

Today, in the brief time available to me I finished painting the hull and weathered some of the superstructure, greebles and flying surfaces.
I also repainted the pilots flesh toned parts.  I had used Deck Tan to see how it looked.  The answer was too zombie like for my liking so I went over with Portland Stone.  The combination of the two has given him an asian skin tone which is perfect for as Sky Pirates are colour blind picking their crew for their villainous hearts and skyfaring experience.

I've been making notes WRT to what gives the Flying Dinghy its buoyancy.

Bootstrapium
A rare self-damping graviphobic element which is highly implosive as a gas, Bootstrapium is unremarkable and inert as a solid or liquid.  It only shows the reason it is so highly sought after when, once in its gaseous state, each atom's electron orbit no longer interacts with those of it's neighbours.  Removal of the dampening effect of this interaction brings out its intense graviphobic nature and it then generates unprecedented amounts of lift. - up to 30g of buoyancy per litre has been recorded in laboratory conditions with 99% pure samples.

Yeah, we KNEW that, but how do you GET the stuff into its gaseous state? It's been troubling me for decades!  :banghead:

Bootstrapium
A rare self-damping graviphobic element which is highly implosive as a gas, Bootstrapium is unremarkable and inert as a solid or liquid.  It only shows the reason it is so highly sought after when, once in its gaseous state, each atom's electron orbit no longer interacts with those of it's neighbours.  Removal of the dampening effect of this interaction brings out its intense graviphobic nature and it then generates unprecedented amounts of lift. - up to 30g of buoyancy per litre has been recorded in laboratory conditions with 99% pure samples.

So, by my calculations, it takes 100L to lift a mass of 3kg. So, to lift a 90kg man (or woman, thank you Reg) 3,000L of gaseous Bootstrapium are required. Assuming the dinghy, framework & spheres are make of ultra-light Unobtainium & mass a mere 90kg, too, that's 6,000L of gaseous Bootstrapium required to attain neutral buoyancy (i.e: weighs nothing but has not yet begun to lift off the ground).

Bootstrapium is not my area of expertise but I'd hazard that (at least) another 6,000L is required to reach any decent altitude & we have 2 spheres, so given;

Vs = (4/3)∏r3
where Vs = 6,000L
& 1L = 1,000cm3
such that r = 3√(6,000,000cm3 / (4/3)∏) = 3√((3 x 6,000,000cm3) / (4∏))
then r = 112.73cm

Thus, the radius of each sphere is 112.73cm (1.13m)
or the diameter of each sphere is 225.46cm (2.25m)

(rounding to 2 decimal places)
