Milton Keynes or Thailand ? Might be a difficult decision  ;)

Looking forward to this tomorrow gents, if not the early start and train trip. Traveling up to Euston the train will be full of enthusiastic Marathon starters, coming back on the evening it will be full of smelly ones  No seriously if anyone is giving it a go or knows someone who is then best of luck to them.

Don't forget please come along and introduce yourselves. We don't bite, especially as Radish is in Whitby  ;D

Safe journey people.

A good show with a nice display and good to put some faces to names

I think we were all thrown by the row of tables we were on being single depth, but just meant our models had to be a tad friendlier then usual  ;)

First time the show was in the venue and it's a big one. The upstairs galleries were perhaps not as well signposted as they could have been, but first time in the venue so all part of the learning curve. I liked the way the vendors were placed around the edge of the main hall with the club stands in the centre. There were some teething problems with that I think, but again it was the first year so hopefully they will learn. Some new vendors present, but one or two familiar faces were''t there. May have been a clash with Perth I suppose. There was some unused space, quite a bit actually, and that surprised me given that at least a couple of clubs were told "no room at the Inn" fairly late on, but we don't know what input HSE had.

So on the whole a positive first show at the venue

From a personal point of view it took me 3 hours to get there and 2 1/2 back, thanks for the lift to the station Kit , and that is probably the limit of a one day show for me now. Indeed it may just be a tad far ? Might have to stay overnight on the Saturday next year. See how things go, but it might be a sensible approach /

I took some pics of our stand, but the card is jammed in my camera at the moment.  :banghead:

I think I need a big crowbar.............

Whitby was marvellous.
Hope you had a super day on Sunday...I tucked into a "Dracula's Delight", a speciality of the  Sherlock's Coffee House.
It's a massive Eton Mess thingy, with additional cream, ice cream, loads of raspberry sauce, overflowing a large Sundae Glass to twice its normal height, all topped with a chocolate bat. It's just wonderful.
Also, while all the Wood Pigeons here in sunny South Derbyshire are called "Bob", I discovered that the town pigeons in Scarborough are called  "Kevin."
An authentic source of information confirmed this, and also let slip that the enormous Herring Gulls are called "Craig."
:o :o

Yup, Sunday was good thanks Rad. Glad you enjoyed Whitby. I've been there a couple of times and it's a nice place, but both trips were at a more normal time of year  ;)

As instructed I used a bigger hammer and here are the pics, at long last!

We had some new 1/48 models from Devilfish on show  and we had a visit from Leading Observer too, so that was good seeing faces we'd previously only known through their postings on here.

The RAF Ar234C confused a number of people.

Note the now infamous Hawker P.1086 in all its Raspberry Ripple splendour. :)

The glorious FAA co-axial rotor Rotodyne was gifted to us at the Cosford Show, and I seem to be its guardian....

The Venerable Mike McEvoy's humunguous Hunting Clan 1/144 Brabazon sitting on the Perspex stand.

The lovely RAF Starfighter is one of Devilfish's 1/48 models.

Thanks for sharing Kit.  Glad you managed to get it out (it can be tricky at your age).

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
