I found a Tamiya 1/350th Navy aircraft set in my stash. I pulled out two S-3 Vikings and with a little inspiration from Tophe, Stratolaunch and White Knight I came up with this small satellite launcher. Not sure if I want to make it NASA, Navy or private company yet.

First coat of white so far. The satellite launcher is a 1/72nd rocket from the spare parts box.

Neat idea and good timing for sure ! NASA would look cool

Well, I sprayed on a coat of white and it just came out all lumpy and blobby with grey still showing through. I hate trying to paint white. It never comes out right no matter what I do. Now its in some Simple Green for the night and we'll see what it looks like in the morning. Hopefully some light grey or silver will turn out better.

Why not go for a Gray & Make it a World Navy Research Aircraft? think that might Work? Dan

 (If I were a satellite, I would be happy to be launched like that) ;D

Second that.

Trick is finding tiny little decals for NASA or Navy. I suppose if I did some searching something would turn up.

I removed all the white paint after soaking in Simple Green 24 hours. Managed to break of only three out of four main landing gear legs. Replaced one set with the legs from the sprue I grabbed the extra engines from. I'll live with a three legged model. Back to square 0 on painting.

Your suggestion is looking better by the minute! Dark Grey with red trim.

It better land on a really smooth runway!!

Painted dark grey overall for a World Navy scheme. Might as well go all the way with this whiff!

Painted details and the vertical stab silver. I'll let this dry and apply some red in the morning.

It doesn't show up well in this pic due to the light. Better pics tomorrow.

Ahem, do you consider aircraft models as flying/landing machines? For me they are pleasant objects in shelves... ;D

Hmmmm........
How about a prototype for a radio control model?

You are right: between huge serious machines and little models for shelves, there is the world of RC flying toys... ;)

It would sure get some looks at the RC flying field!

Some red touches. It looks more "Thunderbirds" now.
