Unbelievable! I had just posted these pics and went to touch up the black on the front and wouldn't you know it - the bloody paint bled underneathy the tape and has ruined the bonnet.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
So, I will have to strip it right back to bare plastic and start again. Great
I guess it won't be finished this weekend as planned then  :banghead:

PR19_Kit

Ouch, NO fun!  :banghead:

I hope the next effort goes to plan for you.

Sometimes a kit really does seem to be jinxed  :-\

Glad you're not giving in, though. She looks far too good for that!

Yep.  Sometimes.
I think my record for strip/repaint is three times.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

thanks guys. Nah - I won't be throwing int he towel that easily. It's extremely frustrating sure, but that's what ELO's for! :D
It's sitting in a bath of it now as I type. I have to say though - that SMS paint is super strong! The paint on the bonnet just isn't moving or coming off and it's been at ;east 3 hours. The black paint all came off super quick and easy but that SMS stuff just isn't budging. I'm not sure if that's a credit to the paint or not....

So, I'm thinking of a new colour scheme. What do you guys think of Matte black with a blue metallic asymmetric stripe over the top? Or some blue lines highlighting the edges over black?

Old Wombat

It might work but I kinda prefer the scheme you were going for, personally.

Yup, it's amazing what a good nights sleep can do

Well, after a whole year has past, I found this on the shelf the other night and decided to finish it. It hasn't come out nearly as well as I hoped but TBH, I just wanted it finished

The base colour is from SMS Paints (Blue/Green) and I sprayed a light coat of clear blue over the top.

Cars are not my strong point but I've always wanted to do an NSX kit ever since it came out in 2016, so that's now off my list of "to build" items

Thanks for looking

Si

Cars may not be your strong suit but you've done good there.  Paint looks great.

That's looking really good, despite the mega-long build.

But nice though the styling is, that add-on spoiler on the struts don't do anything for its looks. The standard spoiler down on the engine compartment lid looks fine, but strut mounted spoilers always look like afterthoughts to me. Was that an add-on for a race version?

Cars are certainly not my strong point, but that finish and colour is glorious

you know what Fed - I completely agree with you about that wing. I'm going to take it off and remake the struts so they look and sit better, It comes with the kit. Street racing 'go-faster' wing

Old Wombat

Really? Not as good as you'd hoped?

Remind me not to bother building any of the 1/24 cars In the stash! :banghead:
