Ahem, this is a short-run kit, and it seems impossible to build it completely without sandpaper...

Probably I will follow your advice and buy disposable masks to sand (a little).

The main problem for me (bad modeller, sorry) is that, this time, I will have to use the thermoformed canopy. With white glue?

Maybe I will do differently with the canopy, as I will have a P-51 kit that I know including 2 (injected) canopies, see

For the P.97c, the current step is not the most pleasant: adding putty on the second side, then some more on the first side after filling the main holes...

The pod is sanded.
Then the P-51D Heller extra canopy (injected plastic) is glued on.
Then putty addition again, to include properly this canopy (and fill the holes):
