BD-5 family drawings

Thanks to TheChronicOne's project of building a Luftwaffe BD-5 ( https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=46572.0 ), and with the rule:

2)  Any subject, any scale - but must be a what if. Profiles and stories also eligible.

I consider drawing a family of BD-5 drawings, maybe not all (in one week only):

BD-5Z zwilling, Acapella jet
Dreams P-38BD-5, P-38BDZ zwilling, P-38BDN not triplex boom
Profiles P-51BD-5, P-82BD-5

Of course there would (will?) be different versions of this:
- twin piston
- twin jet
- asymmetric piston+jet

I will not start drawing before Saturday 8th, this is the rule, but I have started gathering information. Interesting:
- there was a turboprop BD-5T (I got the 3-view drawing, similar to BD-5A/B)
- there was a sailplane BD-5S (aspect: unknown)
- there was a V-tail BD-5 prototype (I will draw the zwilling of it, if I have time)
- there was a BD-5 with F-100-style nose (I will draw the zwilling of it as well)
Of course the zwilling may have versions with separate tails and joined tail, with or without external tailplanes... This seems a rich subject, thanks again to TheChronicOne!

There actually was one, but they never flew it as a sailplane and put an engine in it.

Such a pity.

The BD-5S did fly as can be seen in the photo on this page from the 1978 Janes World Sailplanes.
Apparently it was difficult to control, the tailplane and wing being too close together, and so the project was not continued with.
The data also says that the aspect ratio was 12.88.

Ah well, a case of differing references yet again.

The long wings come in the LS kit, and it says they're for the powered version too, so maybe they did put an engine in it eventually?

Then of course there is my model of the BD-5S which has been in this state of uncompletedness for a few years now.

The BD-10 was longer like you say but this is less pretty/cute... (I am a dreamer, not a pilot).

It'd surely give the tail greater authority, and the problem may have been exaggerated by CG issues without the originally intended engine in there.

But then it'd take up more space and the whole idea was to make it small.
