I can only admire the way those brave young men stayed cool & calm enough to fight to save their ship &, in the face of incredible odds, to succeed.

That's why I shared it and to show what happens when everything that can go wrong does, but the crew manages to save the ship, unlike HMIJNS Taiho.

I wonder if that was because of superior training and also more than likely all her damage was from the top down, rather than from the bottom up (and Franklin  had her watertight doors closed) and so the Franklin's hull was intact, whereas the Taiho's wasn't?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Fascinating, but where does the '5 minute' bit come from? It's a 45 min vid, but well worth watching.

He'll do a 5 minute video, more or less, on a specific ship.  His extended videos are usually suggested videos, and on something like the development of a class of ships, he'll break it out into multiple extended videos

In one of Dad's old crew photos there's a black moggie proudly sitting on the Skipper's lap.

On the other hand dad also told the tale of a skipper who had a dog on board, which on one long trip jumped overboard  :-\ Although he always reckoned it was booted overboard because it was a right little yappy so and so.
