Tophe produced this for the 2017 1WGB.  I fell in love with the look of it and saved it to my hard drive.

It is a twin engined Mustang bizprop.  It carries one passenger in the glazed first class cabin mounted in the nose.

I shall be building it from these two kits...

...but not until July 1st obviously.

I did get the fuselages out today to compare widths and to try to work out where to cut.   But no actual building.

<edit> it has just struck me that if I cut neatly I can also build a single engined KI-46.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Two entries at once, what's not to like?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Glorious and the secondary idea is a handy side effect. This is a very cool project, I love seeing drawings and profiles and the like turned 3D. It's fine team work and both people get to have fun working in their preferred realm whilst enjoying seeing it come to life in the other.

And we're off.

This is great if you succeed in building it!

Girded my loins, crossed my fingers, took a deep breath and cut into the fuselages today.
I think this is going to look great.  All down to the designer (Tophe) of course.

You will notice that while Tophe's drawing shows the standard length Bitang I am building the extended fuselage long range version.
This is was really done so I could match the width of the two fuselages at the ventral joint and hopefully reduce the amount of PSR.

As far as building a single engined Ki-46 from the remains goes I think it's just got too much Mustang DNA...

LOL, wait until I start posting my first submission to this GB. Tophe-inspired Mustangs seem to be this summer's rage!  ;)

In a strange way, it almost reminds me of an Me 262....

Nice project - good luck!

In Tophes drawing?  Maybe the nose shape and canopy.

Looking at my mockup has me thinking Russian.  There's something Shturmovik about it.  Maybe in the shape of the wings?

Build up the rear fuselage & add Hurricane or (early) Spitfire canopy & wings. ;)

It will, at worst, look odd. At best it'll look weird! ;D

(A Muricah or Mutfinah? Possibly Hurtangah or Spitangah?)

PS: I always read "Bintang" when I see "Bitang" ... & I've never been to Bali! :o
