I like that

Absolutely, it's starting, to come together really well now you can't see the joins.

At first sight that view said 'Fairey Firefly Mk 7' to me, must be the 'piggy back' aft canopy!  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Old Wombat

Hate to say it, 'coz overall she looks great & maybe it's the angle, but the tail looks a bit small to me. No chance of up-sizing it a touch?

It could prolly do with enlarging but this, the Mk1 is staying true to Tope's vision which was a Mustang with Ki-46 wings and nose.  I will therefore be keeping the standard Mustang tails.
However, maybe the Mk 2 had bigger rear surfaces?

I have put on the first of the colour coats.  There was obviously no question what that colour would be so out came the Sky Blue.

I have also started on the fiddley bits.

The Wooksta!

You could add finlets on the tailplanes, a la Gannet and Wyvern?

Glad you approve Tophe.
Thanks Eric.

Second coat of Sky Blue today.  Colour on cowlings, added engine air intakes I missed off, painted engines and painted undercarriage & wheels.

I should be able to clear this tomorrow.
Today I started on the crew and a seat for the front cockpit.

As you should.

I put the transfers on today.  So no more pics as it'll spoil the surprise.
Looks good though.

Close to completion.
I just have to paint the crew and their seats and the canopy framing.

Tophe, if you are reading this do you prefer a gloss or satin finish on an aircraft?  I can't tell from your drawing.   ;)

My drawing was a dream only. If you put roundels and colours, this is your own creation: do as you prefer ;D
