I note that there doesn't seem to be a specific 707 and related thread, so here goes.

All the following drawings are from a 17-page document on the origins of the 707. A local club member has been clearing out his file
boxes. I snagged this one.

Fascinating.
IMO it was all looking good right up until the point they dropped the double bubble fuselage.

Some of them are in the recent Secret  Projects book on US Airlifters, but some aren't, which is odd.

The Model 367-60 (Swept gull wing with turboprops on a Stratocruiser fuselage) looks decidedly odd!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

There's LOADS of good ideas there already!

I have the vacform engines from the VC10 which will replace the engines in my Heller 1/72 Boeing E-3A/C model.
