Sorry for the late reply. Yes, those are B-26 nacelles with C-121 cowlings and PB4Y engine faces.

Cheers,

David

We were ALL right.

Yeah, the engines are of the mix and match type. I didn't like the B-26's "Elephant ear" intakes on the cowlings. Besides, with the B-26's R 2800 there was still a little more HP or Kn needed to get it airborne from a carrier. Didn't want to add engines (was thinking about podded jets in wingtip pods like some Noratlasses had)  as it wasn't eligeble for the GB. So, figured it needed cowlings with an slightly larger capacity and started looking for C-121 cowlings in which a R3350 fits = more oemphfff to get airborne. ;D

Thanks for the description of what went into the engines you are using. I was looking for a pair of R 2800's and your talking about the B-26 reminded me that I bought a Revell kit a while back to use as a parts donor and the engines and cowlings were available still

Thanks for the engine breakdown Dave.

Major psr is done...only the wingroots to finish.

Think the B-26's tail planes are to be used as they're just a bit smaller than the PB-4Y's.

There is something about the proportions of this with make it look like a cartoon plane.
I hope its getting a smiley face...

It's that long, fat nose on such a short body that does it, and I get exactly the same feel about it too.
