Its next to the Dutch one. a Royal Canadian Navy T4. I keep quiet about this one. Its been around for ages but Thornbury was its first public appearance.

Um, what is being called an Osprey please, I know the V-22 is called that but I don't see any V-22s there.

What Robert said, we didn't have an Osprey on the stand.

They have two big prop/rotors, one on each end of the wings.

The big green 'dyne is my 'Rotocrane HC4' that has its own thread here somewhere.

The Kamov style FAA SAR 'dyne was given to us at the Cosford Show buy the guy who'd built it for his club's Whiffing GB, but wasn't really interested in it, so who were we to look a gift 'dyne in the intake, eh?  ;D

From what I can gather, most helicopters bank better to the left, as most of them have blades that rotate in an anti-clockwise direction, which gives the advancing blade better bite into the air as they turn.

Kamov & Russian coaxial rotor helicopters bank as well in both directions, as they have advancing blades on both sides.

I'd hazard that even with unpowered auto-gyro blades this effect would come into play & coaxial blades would give better agility in turns, at least, & would be a back-up if one set of blades failed for any reason.
