No one seems to have time for snail mail these days.

Have you tried sending model parts to someone else using any other method ?

Because they don't want to come out of their shells?

All true, though over here some of the utility companies charge you for a paper bill... then charge you again for an over-the-counter paying of the bill...  :banghead: :banghead:

No progress for various real world reasons  :-\ Looks like I'll be looking for an extension

Well I actually got some work done, not much but it's progress

Doubt if I'll finish her for the GB  :-\, but she should be going to Telford  ;D We shall see

A little more progress yesterday evening, indeed if I'd restarted a little earlier I might have got her finished. I got the undercarriage built yesterday and it will have to go in "backwards" because of the way I carved the Whirlwind's engine pods/undercarriage bays to become the undercarriage doors for this build. So the undercart will retract forwards. As it's a proof of concept prototype that's fine and if and when it goes into production the designers will have sorted that out  ;)

Dry fitted the undercarriage yesterday and it just looks wrong. Far to spindly and stalky. I'll need to rethink it, but I'll wait until I've united the front and rear fuselages in order to get a proper view of it.

In case I can't modify the existing undercarriage I had a look in the spares box marked "undercarriage and wheels". Now there are loads of wheels in there of every size and kind, but legs ? Very few so if I go down the single leg undercarriage route I may need to scratch them. Now that's not to difficult, the difficult bit for me though is getting them to look the same and be the same length

Also got her transfers on last night. The first P I tried to use disintergrated  :-\ so she's ended up with one that's slightly too large I think (from the AZ MB5) but any port in a storm.

Had some thoughts re the undercarriage, but the cut down version of the kit's may well work ?

More importantly I got the front and rear sections matted yesterday and my "engineering solution" to mate them securely seems to have worked (touching all the wood available). None the less she will be secured to a small base so that no undue stress and strain is put on the joint whilst in transit to shows.

I also started musing about an in-service type using this design. No idea what I'd use for the starting point though ? It would need to be a fairly hefty, albeit slim fuselage type ? Still that's a question for much, much latter ; if ever  ;)

They did  If I'd have pushed this then I may well have met the deadline, but it wasn't to be. Never mind.

Just a couple of hours work away from finishing this, so she will make Telford.

Found the major parts (fuselage, wings, tail appendage) of an old Frog DH Hornet. Competitor to the original Python engined Wyvren ?
