As the title says, I am looking for a nicely priced 1/72 Matchbox Vicker's Wellington which will not be built out of the box. In fact it will be used as part of a build, a Vicker's Warwick in fact. On reflection that should be an attempt to build a Warwick as there is no guarantee that I will complete the build. The Contrail vac-form Warwick I bought a fairly short time ago will provice a template for the build.

There's not a lot of the Wellington that you can transfer to the Warwick - maybe the cockpit interior and the turrets - but the Matchbox one is woefully lacking in both areas.  I was lucky enough to get an MPM one at a reasonable price (a fiver!) some time back for at least one of my Warwicks.

The idea is to use the wings and fuselage as a basis, the turrets will be from a different source as I already know that they are not particularly good Lee.

It's possible - the fuselage extension looks to be ahead of the wing (I don't have the three view to hand), but I'd suggest that it would be less work to actually build the vacform kit as it is.  Certainly less surgery and it's not a cheap kit to cut up either!

If you're going down that route, I'd suggest getting a couple of wellingtons and combine the two*, rather than cutting up a rare and expensive vacform.

*I did something similar many years back with a pair of Matchbox Ju 188s (with some resin Ju 388 bits) to get a single Ju 488 V401.

Thank you Lee but I had already decided to use a couple of the Matchbox Wellington kits and a lot of work, hence the request..

As it so happens, there's a pair of Matchbox ones in my disposals pile - there's definitely at least one.  I can't guarantee I'll be at Glasgow - are you at Telford this year?

Not going to be at Telford unless I have a lottery win, so the question is how much includeing postage if you don't manage Glasgow?
