I  am going to  need a few of these as I  want  to arm several  aircraft  with these,  and  my RAF  bombs are a bit thin on the ground.  My aircraft will be from the 50's  through  to the late 70's,  and from what I can  find on line they were all quite  similar  around  that time frame.  What kits in 72nd  has plenty of  these and  also is there any  aftermarket  companies that make  them. I have  plenty of U.S stuff, but  this stuff I  still need to find.
Cheers

Well,   looking like I have hit a dead end with this one.  Matra  pods although available  are  silly money just for a  pair of the things.  Starting to think I  should have stuck with  my old build theme  now.

Are you sure they're 540 lbs Chris? I thought the RAF stuck with amounts like 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 lbs for their bombs.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yes Kit, I have looked them up  and  for  some reason  the bombs of the time frame are 540 lb.

What they weighed and what they were called was not always the same Chris. They are not metric equivalents are they ? I've just checked and they are 540lbs (245kg) for some reason. Their big brother was still 1,000lbs. They are more streamlined then WWII era bombs so I'm afraid I can't help that much. I've got a few US style bombs on multiple ejector racks that you are wellcome to.

I thought I had some Matra pods but I haven't even got them I'm afraid.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Could you post a picture of the type you're looking for?

I'm willing to help but no clear picture what your looking for?

Thankyou everyone I will  find  some  pictures of  the 540lb bombs  for you David.  Chris,  I  have  lots and lots of the U.S type  bombs,  but thankyou  very much for the offer.
Cheers,
Chris

Owkay, Don't you think they're to long and to fat? Have no clue where they came from.

How many do you need?

I had a look through my Harrier and Jaguar kits to see if I had any like that, but the Jag came with Martels and the Harrier kits all seem to have WWII style, short, fat bombs. :(
