It's starting to look very, very Tirpitz - like to me now.
Going to be finished in 2021 BEFORE I start any da*!#d new ones - CF-IDS Wolverine; Douglas Mawson; Bubba Wants a Fishin' Rig; NA F-100

Against the Wall - Maton Dreadnought; Fender Telecaster; Epiphone Les Paul Studio

Wrong disruptive scheme, it's Bismark.

Bag 9, with a lot of very small parts in it

It was quite trick< for my engineer to put those chains together as the parts were very tiny.

But in the end, he managed to add all the new parts to the model. I get the impression that something big is still missing...

So there is only one bag to go until it is done.

Finally, the 10th bag. and my engineer is happy to finish his project today.

This looks like some cranes or masts to be added. Unfourtunally, it looks as if there are no sails included.

Now those are some guns.

And after 10 bags, 1976 parts and 357 steps in the instructinos, my engineer has completed his model:

He is quite happy what he has done!

And as Old Wombat (and others) have seen - this is the Cobi Bismarck.

Cobi is a Polish manufacturer of brick sets - compatible with Lego and with a quality comparable with them. https://cobi.pl/en/

Among others, they have quite a lot military sets - tanks, aircraft and ships - which you would not see from Lego.
Like most other boys, I had a lot of Lego when I was a kid and so when i saw the Bismarck, I got the strong wish of getting one  ;D. Normal price is about 100€, but i got it for 88€, which is quite fair if you to compare it to Lego. And was fun to build such stuff again after so many years. For my engineer it was slso a good experience and he got some ideas for other projects.

Whey have several ships in 1:300 scale: Bismarck & Tirpitz, Warspite, Yamato & Musashi, Missouri and just new a Titanic. Many of those are also available as special "World of Warships" editions where you got some bonuscodes for Wows in it (but they are more expensive).

What a remarkably talented engineer you have!!

ALL engineers are remarkably talented, aren't they? he asked, with a straight face.................  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That's come out really well, congratulations to your Engineer

I never had Lego as a kid (I'm sure that means I can sue someone for something ? ). I was of the Meccano generation plus I had a building set that used miniature clay bricks, white glue and scale house blueprints.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I had both, but my uncles would build things using Meccano  like trucks,  cars and dumpers trucks  which meant by the time I got it back the metal was twisted.  The Lego I used to build tunnels for my 00gauge train set until my little sister discovered Lego and I never saw my pile again .

Well, it seems as if my engineer used my credit card and bought something while I was on vacation.

Again, a big box arrived today, and he looked very happy and eager to open it.

In it, 14 bags with a lot of plastic bricks in it appeared and my engineer opened the first one and studied the instructions.

And after over 60 steps in the instruction, he completed the first bag:

I guess he will continue tomorrow.

I also think that this might be a ship, but who knows what he is doing.

This is now bag 2 that he worked on today.

Although I think it also might be some kind of fancy coffee machine and that he is looking into the coffee storage.
