Iberia Junkers Ju-390

In 1947 the Spanish airline Iberia was looking for an airliner to replace the ageing Ju-52 aircraft operated since the early 1940's.
As the Allied powers refused to deal with the fascist Spanish government the turned to Germany.
Since the 1946 armistice the German aircraft industry had made a shift from military to civilian aircraft and the Junkers aircraft factory was busy promoting its Ju-290 and Ju-390 airliners.

Developed from the military transport version the Ju-390D was a airliner seating 50 people with a range long enough to cross the Atlantic non-stop.
Iberia bought ten of the aircraft which went into service in 1948 on the routes to South America.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

What scale is this? 1:144?  :o

This is the 1/144 Anigrand resin kit with decals from Vintage Flyer Decals for a DC-8.

Ah, thank you! It looked a bit small for a 1:72 model (even though there's a model from Classic Plane available, AFAIK).

Just for once it DOESN'T need longer wings!  :o

That must be HUGE in 1/72!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That really does look the part Tom
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Man, I have got to get me one of these!

The airliner with 4 main landing gears, decades before the Jumbo jet, is funny... ;D (and nice)
